About the role:

We are looking for an agile, motivated and self-driven personality who is ready to join our Claims Operations Team in Bangalore as a Claims Analyst. Claims Operations is a global function and part of the P&C Business Management Division, which handles the in-force reinsurance business from end to end.  In your Claims Analyst role, you will be responsible for processing, review and analysis of individual claim transactions as well as active portfolio steering to identify market trends, business insights and automation opportunities.  You will own responsibility for an assigned portfolio of claims and collaborate with stakeholders and clients internally and externally. You bring with you the ability to work in a dynamic environment by being capable to navigate through periods of change and ambiguity. You will be also expected to pro-actively pursue your career advancement by developing current and new areas of competence on own initiative.

   

Essential responsibilities of the Claim Analyst role:

  • Independent review, evaluation and investigation of (low/flow, legal investigations are out of scope) claims from all lines of business- in accordance with policy provisions.
  • Set up of claims and booking worksheets of an assigned portfolio and escalation to a senior claims expert as appropriate under consideration of all certs and technical clauses.
  • Maintain data quality by creating consistency between the information in the system and treaty.
  • Strong analytical acumen, utilizing existing tools for performing analysis and identifying insights and trends.
  • Reporting of insights and trends to relevant stakeholders and liaising with underwriters, clients and brokers on contractual and claims related matters, claims administration and automation opportunities.
  • Representation of Claims Operations in Business Management cross-functional team.
  • Demonstrate understanding of the financial transaction end-to-end process and understand the impact of automation and dependencies.
  • Perform root cause analysis, reviews pain points and collaborates across teams, functions and regions to troubleshoot and resolve issues, automation failures and improves internal processes working closely with experts within Operations and from other business functions.
  • Communicate clearly with fellow team members, guide other examiners on more complex matters and provide and receive feedback for and from peers, customers and leadership team.
  • Completion of various projects as assigned (local, cross-locational, regional or global).
  • Some travel to Swiss Re locations or local clients/brokers might be required.

About the team:

You will join a very experienced and highly motivated team of Claims Analysts and Examiners that is handling Reinsurance claims for the Claims unit in Zurich, responsible for African, Middle East, Israel and Turkish market. Main scope of your intervention will be the African market but as per business need also other markets to generate full benefit of our wider team structure in Operations. Our responsibilities require regular interactions with peers and experts from other global locations. We have a strong link to the other Business Management teams and collaborate on a daily basis to deliver best service and most value to our clients.

 

About you:

  • Min 5-7 years of professional experience, preferably in the (re)insurance sector.
  • Previous experience working with HGMs and some insurance certifications preferable
  • Profound understanding of Reinsurance treaties, certs and technical clauses.
  • Ability to handle multiple activities, meet deadlines and prioritize work load.
  • Commercial and self-motivated mindset
  • High degree of flexibility and agility in thought and behavior
  • Demonstrate and utilize effective problem solving skills and proactive critical thinking skill
  • Proficient interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) and good team player
  • Able to work in a virtual/remote international/global/multicultural team environment
  • Work effectively within a matrix environment
  • SharePoint and Microsoft Suite preferred
